Job Shadowing at Kaarilan koulu 

We warmly welcome teachers, school leaders and other education professionals to observe Finnish comprehensive education and exchange ideas with our staff. Every visit is tailored to the visitors' interests and our school's daily schedule.

Tell us what you would like to observe during your visit. Depending on your interests, you can observe, for example, inclusive education, special needs support, Creative Design, language teaching, student well-being, digital learning, assessment practices, sustainability education or everyday school life in a Finnish comprehensive school.

Practical information

School days usually begin between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. and finish between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.

During your visit we recommend:

• comfortable casual clothing
• a notebook for observations
• asking permission before taking photographs

Lunch is provided free of charge for all pupils, and visitors are welcome to experience a typical Finnish school lunch. School lunch is available for visitors for a small fee. 

English is widely spoken among our staff.

School Holidays 2026–2027

• Autumn break: 12–16 October 2026
• Christmas holiday: 19 December 2026 – 10 January 2027

• Winter break: 1–5 March 2027
• Easter holiday: 25–29 March 2027
• Ascension Day: 6 May 2027
• Summer holiday begins on 6 June 2027

Travelling to Tampere

The easiest way to reach Tampere is via Helsinki Airport (HEL). 

After arriving at the airport, take a train to Tampere Railway Station. The journey takes approximately 2 hours, with frequent daily departures.

From Tampere city centre, Kaarilan koulu can be reached easily by local bus.
